The Great Virgil and Julie Ring #70

The Tacoma Magic Ring is a non-profit organization dedicated to the furtherance of magic as an art and entertainment. It is an affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and a member of the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians.

"Who are the Ring's members?"
Members are both amateur and professional magicians and others with a strong interest in magic. The Tacoma Magic Ring includes about thirty members from Olympia to Seattle.

"What does the Ring do?"
During its regular monthly meetings, the Tacoma Magic Ring serves as a learning center for its members, allowing members to participate and develop their magical and presentation skills. The Ring annually organizes and presents public shows and as well as lectures and events for members of the magic community.

"When do you meet?"

Typically we meet on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Occasionally there may be special meetings on other dates such as: Special meetings held in lieu of the regular meeting in July for the club picnic (held at a member's home) and December for the holiday party.

"How much does it cost?"
You are welcome to attend up to two meetings as a guest free of charge.  If you would like to join, membership is $25.00 for the first year and $20.00 for each year thereafter. Members are also encouraged to join the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Dues for this organization include a subscription to The Linking Ring, a monthly publication.  Additional information is available on their website.

"What are the benefits of joining?"
Members participate in a variety of Ring activities ranging from lectures and workshops to shows. Members also receive The Gimmick, the Ring's monthly newsletter. Members in good standing who have attended a minimum of six Ring meetings are also able to use the Ring Library, which features dozens of instructional videos and hundreds of magic books and periodicals.

Most importantly, membership in the Ring gives you access to the knowledge and experience of some of the top magicians in the area.  The tips, suggestions, and opportunities to perform and improve your skills with the art of magic are immeasurable.

Anyone with a serious interest in magic is welcome to join. The Ring takes on club projects and expects its members to participate. All applicants must complete an application form and perform approximately 10 minutes of magic at a meeting. Performances are informal but demonstrate a serious interest in the art.

If you would like information on joining, attend a Ring meeting and express your interest to one of the Ring officers, or contact us
